About
I am a youth pastor in Birmingham, AL who is married to Cathy and has two daughters, Jane and Elizabeth. My family is my ministry, as well as my church.
My background? I have been a youth guy for many years, I served as a band director for several, I was a sound engineer for a while, and was a rock star (in my room) in the backwoods country of Lower Alabama. I have a bachelors degree in commercial music and masters degree in music education. My background allows me to use music and worship to relate to teens and help them process their lives and their faith. I put a lot of emphasis on learning through doing, which is the teacher coming out in me. I also try to do as little in programs and events as possible to let teens lead them. Youth learn more from leading and become better disciples through service.
